Park and Recreation offers so many great ways for you to stay active, including an outstanding community sailing program located at Blythe Landing Park on Lake Norman, 15901 NC Highway 73 in Huntersville.
Although it’s the middle of winter, Park and Rec is already planning for those hot summer months. Yes, that means summer camps! From nature center camps to rec center camps, aquatics camps and so much more, Park and Rec is offering a variety of activities for children of various ages and interests. But since we know there are a lot to choose from, we’ve compiled a list of six camps your kids are sure to love.
Between all of our parks, greenways, nature preserves, and recreation centers alone, there are an endless amount of opportunities to get out there and recreate (and then there’s our picnic shelters, aquatic centers…the list goes on and on). But we get it – finding these opportunities can be tough when there’s so much to look for.
There are a few core skills that most people would likely agree everyone should have – how to walk, talk, read and write, for example. But aside from the typical gross and fine motor skills that we learn growing up, there are a few others that are just as important to master. We’ll give you one – how to swim.

Chances are your neighbors have started to put up their Christmas trees, wreaths, and lights, but they’re not the only ones getting into the holiday season – our Park and Recreation department is, too!
