He maintains high retention rates and develops his team members for the next level of practice… He uses client feedback to enhance team service practices and desired outcomes for children and families. He also creates accountability towards goals and coaches for performance. His team is always 100% in compliance with our overtime, training, and other internal policies/expectations.
Greg’s team has been recognized as the team of the quarter for the last three performance quarters and Greg has been recognized as the supervisor of the quarter during this same time period. Greg also provides support to his supervisory peers by sharing his developed strategies for efficient and effective workload management… utilizing data to inform his decisions and when monitoring performance outcomes.”
Lindsey Williford, Recreation Program Supervisor in Park & Recreation
As interim Senior Facility Manager for special events, Lindsey contributed to the success of 31 weddings at our Historical St. Mary’s Chapel, 11 internal music series events, contracting/permitting 45+ events/filming, and much more. All during a peak event season with reduced event staff.
The Special Events Office received a 100% customer satisfaction from 40 surveys for Sundown Sounds in FY24. Lindsey nominator says she’s “successfully maneuvered through lots of changes… formed new relationships and fostered existing relationships with outside partners and organizations.” They go on to say she “has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and innovation in her role… Her proactive approach to problem-solving, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively make her an invaluable asset to our team.”
Morgan Snead, Environmental Specialist II in Land Use and Environmental Services Agency
Morgan’s work for the County’s Air Quality division included a review of new technology aimed at eliminating an emerging class of pollutants known as PFAS (per and polyfluoroalkyl substances). Her nominator says Morgan “served our customers and public well in making sure an innovative pollution reduction process could proceed successfully and have the necessary protective measures in place for our environment.” She ultimately presented her findings to a national air pollution agency association, our local Air Quality Commission and to local industry contacts at Mecklenburg County’s Air Quality Forum.
Morgan’s review included frequent communication and multiple site visits with a local business who requested permission to run the PFAS destruction process and reaching out to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency scientists and other air agency staff across the country. Morgan’s nominator says, “Her efforts could lead to real success at eliminating a true environmental hazard. But with the assurance of a quality review, the backing of peers, and implementation of safeguards. ”
Jonathan Beller, Construction Project Manager in Land Use and Environmental Services Agency
Jon’s nominator said he’s “been a key driver of our County’s response to flooded properties from Tropical Storm Helene… working constantly with residents along the Catawba River to help them understand what options are available to them with flood recovery.”
He goes on to say the County’s retroFIT program Jon manages “is the only one of its kind in the State and likely the most impactful local buyout program in the Country… Jon has provided excellent customer service by being responsive and clear with residents while navigating changing and shifting guidance during the emergency response phase… Jon has continuously spurred innovation throughout this process by pushing the flood mitigation team to better analyze the flood risk for residents along the Catawba River, to consider future permitting changes for this area and their impacts, and to clearly navigate the balance of the local program with the federal program. “Jon has truly been a great public servant during this past year.”
